“From Invisibility to Voice”
“Growing up in foster care taught me lessons no classroom could. I faced uncertainty, fear, and moments where I felt invisible. But through those struggles, I also learned resilience, empathy, and the importance of having a voice.
These experiences fuel my work with [this community]. I want to make sure youth are seen, heard, and understood—not just as cases, but as people with dreams, challenges, and potential. By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness about the real day-to-day struggles foster youth face and to advocate for changes that make the system more supportive, stable, and compassionate.
Every foster youth deserves to feel safe, valued, and empowered. My goal is to help create a system where their voices guide decisions, because youth perspectives aren’t just important—they’re essential”.
